In less than a month I’m going to be running my first half marathon and couldn’t be more excited. I’ve been investing in quite a bit more athletic apparel as I feel like that’s what I’m wearing 80% of the day. My pair of running shoes were getting pretty ‘run’ down, so I also invested in a new pair of ASICS which has put a little pep in my training step! The timing of my race is also perfect. As the weather gets a bit cooler, It’s my favorite temperature to run in. Crisp air and a light layer while jogging… boys, bring out the leggings! Here are two basic running get-ups that I’ve been training in recently.
This first one features the fuzeX Bomber Jacket and it’s the perfect mix between a stylish windbreaker and the trendy bomber. When I’m jogging, I tend to overheat pretty easy and this was a perfect balance of weight and breathability. It’s also a full-zip.. so if and when I do overheat, I can simply unzip all the way. My new favorite shoe is ASICS’ Dyna Flight 2. The cushion & support on these bad boys is great. They’re pretty light too, considering how much support they give. I’ve been loving these as I’ve been training for the half-marathon and I’m spending much more time in them than any other shoe.

I’ve learned first-hand the importance of stretching before & after runs and have been gradually upping my mileage. Do you have any advice for a first-timer?
