I’m not huge on resolutions, but with every passing year, I’ve found the value into slowing down and looking at where I’ve come and re-positioning myself to look forward and point to where I want to go. As every year seems to pass faster & faster, I wanted to take a moment to lay out some goals & plans for 2018 — which I couldn’t be more excited about!
Here are some quick notes & goals for my new year:
2018 is going to be the year I end phones in the bed at night. I can sit for an hours after I’ve brushed my teeth and I crawl into bed answering emails or scrolling endlessly through Instagram – so this will be the year I break the habit.
I haven’t shared this with too many people, but I have major sleep issues. I get 8-hours of uninterrupted sleep, but I wake up every morning depleted and so tired. It’s been consistent for almost 3 years now. I’ve had a few tests done and even spent the night in a hospital to monitor my sleep, but no irregularities have shown up. This year I would like to get to the bottom of this issue and get a handle on it as sleep and energy levels affect everything we do.
It’s not that I feel like I’m a bad friend to my friends, but as you get older you really have to put in the effort to keep up with and stay connected to friends. As most of my college & high school friends live in Texas and I’m constantly traveling, I’ve felt disconnected from the people I’m closest to and want to change that this year.
2018 is going to have a BIG focus on video – so be looking out for some fun new things and subscribe to my YouTube Channel if you aren’t already!
If you’re following along on Instagram maybe you’ve seen my daily motivational quotes on Instagram Stories — I’ve got a passionate project regarding this that is still in the works and can’t wait to share it with y’all in a few months.
Also, I’ve teased some ‘STAY RISKY’ merch that will be dropping in the next coming months, so that’s another thing to be on the lookout for!
In 2017, I wrote down a list of places I wanted to visit and tried to manifest them via work or trips for pleasure. I found that putting positive energy and setting intentional goals behind travel destinations has really helped turn travel dreams into a reality. In 2018, I’m going to be traveling to Tokyo, Madrid, Portugal, Peru, and Bali. Some of these already have some momentum that I’ve already put behind them, and others are hopeful manifestations.. and I can’t wait to see which ones pan out! These behind the scenes shots are for a New Years themed shoot for Veuve Clicquot. They’re one my very favorite clients because of the amazing team that I’m fortunate to work alongside and the tasty bubbles! I also think they’re doing one of the best jobs on social in terms of brands that work with creative content creators. For the New Year, they celebrated 27 of their creative partners – a pool that I’m so lucky to be a part of!
