One of my goals for 2019 is to breath and sweat – every day. That might sound easy, but what I’m aiming to do is to get centered and to get movin’. Two friends of mine have inspired me to practice meditation and complete a workout – or break a sweat in any kind of way, no matter what. And I’m up for the challenge!
While traveling, I find myself using excuses on why I “can’t” workout: I’m too tired, just don’t have enough time, don’t have access to a gym… the list goes on. Hopefully, this will force me to prioritize my workouts and get them done in the morning when I’m at home (that way there is no excuse for getting caught up in the day) and or just to get out there and go on a run while I’m traveling. My friend Carlos really inspired me with this as he does such a great job at staying active while traveling. He travels probably more than me and his mantra of ‘sweat everyday’ is obviously working out for him!
My buddy Dave in LA inspired me on the meditation front. Not only does he do a #dailydip from Venice Beach every day, but he also starts off every morning with a 7-minute breathing exercise and meditation. I’ve done some guided meditations in the past and really loved starting the day off on a focused note or re-centering myself in the middle of the day. I’m challenging myself to stick with this one because even when I feel like I don’t have time for a 10-minute meditation, I know I always feel better and it benefits me right after. Dave also spearheads a team on The Whole Life Challenge, a 6-week lifestyle program that’s dedicated to improving your health, fitness, and overall well-being — one habit at a time. I’m joining his team in about a week and couldn’t be more excited about the timing and the challenge!
This is such a fun and different tracksuit from Old Navy than my standard gym wear.
